Nothing really new to report for the past couple of weeks. The adults did make a quick trip this past weekend up to Hartford CT to hear the Organ Symphony at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford. Very nice cathedral with beautiful stained glass windows and a really nice organ. The symphony was performed by the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford) Symphony Orchestra; they were pretty good for an amateur group. The organ was quite powerful but the organist blew it on his big entrance at the beginning of the fourth movement…he hit a bum note in the big C Major chord that opens the movement. The remainder of the program was the Strauss Also Sprach Zarathustra which is a nice tone poem. The opening is most famous as the music to 2001 – A Space Odyssey but the remainder of the piece is pretty mellow. Connie didn’t think much of it.
Other than that’ it’s just been clean, toss, donate and otherwise get ready to put the house on the market. They did have a contractor come in and strip the wallpaper off of the foyer and downstairs bathroom and repaint them to match the other walls and got the deck and front walkway/steps power washed to get rid of the accumulated grime. They’ve got another day trip to PA this weekend for an Organ Symphony concert but otherwise it will just be more of the same until the house prep/stage/declutter is finished.
Their new RV is proceeding nicely; frame is done, tanks and flooring installed, and it’s moved over to plumbing and electrical. They haven’t heard anything new on the F450 order yet either.
Cyas…
